What it's like

Here's exactly how the day goes.

Plan on 1.5 to 2 hours from the moment you arrive to the moment you leave. The flight itself is only part of it.

    Pre-flight brief

    You sit down with your instructor. What you'll do, where you'll go, what the controls do, and what to expect in the air. Questions welcome — most people have a lot.

    You fly the airplane

    Not a ride-along. You're in the left seat with your hands on the controls, flying it yourself with an instructor beside you. It counts as loggable flight time.

    Tour the school

    Back on the ground, you'll see the fleet, the classrooms and the simulator — and meet some of the people you'd be training with.

    We sit down and walk through what training would actually look like for you — timeline, cost, and the realistic route to wherever you want to end up.

None at all! Discovery flights are designed for complete beginners. Your instructor handles all critical phases while you experience the joy of flight.

What's the weight class difference?expand_more

Aircraft performance varies with weight. Under 220 lbs uses our standard Piper trainers. Over 220 lbs uses aircraft with higher performance capacity to ensure the best experience.

Can I bring a passenger?expand_more

Discovery flights are one-on-one with your instructor for safety and the best learning experience. Family can watch from the terminal!

What happens if the weather is bad?expand_more

Safety first. We'll reschedule your flight at no additional cost if weather conditions aren't suitable for flying.
